Huawei IT Raid: Government tough on Chinese companies

The government’s attitude toward Chinese businesses is becoming more hostile. Following the recent banning of 54 Chinese apps, the Income Tax Department has raided many offices of Huawei, a Chinese telecom company, in an effort to combat tax evasion. On Wednesday, this information was released, citing sources in a report. On Tuesday, raids were carried out at the company’s offices in Delhi, Gurugram, and Bengaluru, according to the statement.

Documents were seized by officers.

According to the report, Income Tax Department officials searched the company’s financial documents and books to look into tax evasion involving the company, its Indian operations, and foreign transactions. According to sources, the Income Tax team has also seized some documents from these locations. However, the company has refuted the allegations of tax evasion, claiming that its operations in India are conducted entirely within the law.

According to the company, information has been received about an Income Tax Department team visiting our various offices and questioning some employees at the same time. Huawei is confident that its operations in India are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. Significantly, Huawei has been excluded from 5G service testing by the government.
