Android version 13 Later this year, Google will unveil Android 13, the next version of its mobile operating system. The company is expected to introduce a slew of new features in the upcoming Android update. Work on the upcoming OS is currently underway. Google had previously released two Android 13 developer previews.
Android 12L, a follow-up to Android 12, was also released by Google. The display on the 12L has been optimised for the home screen, lock screen, notification shade, device set-up screen, settings, and more. As part of the March feature drop, Google Pixel phones received Android 12L. Many new features were released in March, including Live Caption on Call, Night Mode in Snapchat, Text Stickers, and a New Widget. So, let’s see what Android 13 has to offer.
Multiple Enabled Profiles is one of Android 13’s features.
Multiple Enabled Profile (MEP) was recently discovered in the latest code of the new operating system. This feature will be available in Android 13 and will allow users to have dual SIM on a single eSIM chip device.
Most smartphones currently have one or more physical SIM slots, as well as an eSIM and a physical SIM slot. The service will allow users to enable up to three schemes in the phone once this update is installed on phones with physical SIM card slots. The feature may support iOS, Windows, and MacOS devices in addition to Android devices.
photo selector
A new photo picker will also be included in the operating system. It allows users to share both local and cloud-based photos and videos in a secure manner.
App icons with a theme
Android 13 also introduces new developer services and tools. The Quick Settings Placement API is included in this. Users can also choose to have themed app icons. The icons of the supported Android launcher inherit the colour of the wallpaper and other themes chosen by the users.
Bluetooth Low Energy Audio
Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) audio is also supported by the operating system. Users can share and broadcast their audio with friends and family, as well as subscribe to public broadcasts.
Wi-Fi access was available nearby.
The NEARBY WIFI DEVICES runtime permission will be available in Android 13 for apps that manage Wi-Fi connections to nearby access points. Please keep in mind that the new permission will be critical for apps that use the Wi-Fi API. Simultaneously, this feature enables apps to locate and connect to nearby Wi-Fi devices without the need for location permissions.
Permission to Send Notifications
To send notifications from an app, the operating system will introduce a new runtime permission called POST NOTIFICATIONS. Before posting notifications, apps will need to obtain permission from the user for notification permissions.
