Earth received the first laser message from space: Received in 50 seconds

Earth has received a laser message from space for the first time. This message was sent to Earth from a distance of 16 million kilometers (10 million miles). It took only 50 seconds to receive the message. NASA said- This is the first time we have received a laser message.

America Space Agency NASA said- This message was sent from our Psyche spacecraft present in space, which was received on Earth in 50 seconds. We have been communicating with spacecraft using radio signals for a long time, but until now the agency had never before sent or received information from such a distance using a laser in space.

According to NASA official Turdy Cortese, this achievement will pave the way to improve communication in space. He said- With this we will be able to create the technology by which scientific information, photos and videos can be sent to other planets in future.

You can also estimate this distance of 16 million kilometers from the fact that this distance is about 40 times more than the distance between the Earth and the Moon.

Psyche spacecraft was launched on October 13.
Psyche spacecraft was launched on October 13 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Deep Space Optical Communications (DSOC) system was used for this experiment. This DSOC system was installed on the Psyche spacecraft. This system is used to send laser-beam messages back to Earth.

Receiving laser messages is a big achievement.
At present, large antennas are installed on Earth to establish contact with spacecraft in deep space. Radio signals are used to send and receive messages from these antennas. But their bandwidth is limited.

After this experiment, NASA can now establish contact between Earth and spacecraft by using ‘light’ instead of radio signals. Messages can be sent and received through this light or laser. According to NASA, this system can send information 10 to 100 times faster than the space communication devices currently in use.

Releasing this picture, NASA said that this experiment is the most successful optical communication experiment conducted so far from the farthest place in space i.e. deep space.

The message was received on November 14.
NASA said that on November 14, the Psyche spacecraft established a communication link with the Hale Telescope at the Palomar Observatory in California. The successful use of this communication link has been named ‘First Light’.

Meanwhile, DSOC’s near-infrared photons took about 50 seconds to travel from Psyche to Earth. During this test, data was sent through uplink and downlink lasers under ‘Closing the Link’ technique.

Signal sent from Mars to Earth for the first time: Received in 16 minutes, scientists seek help from people to decode it

For the first time, a signal has been sent from Mars to Earth. This signal has not been sent by any alien but by the ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) of the European Space Agency.
