Deepak Hooda, an Indian all-rounder, made his international debut against the West Indies in the first One-Day International on Sunday. Hooda, who represents Baroda in domestic cricket, was presented with the Team India cap by former captain Virat Kohli at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Hooda did not bowl in the match, but he batted brilliantly, scoring 26 runs in 32 balls and sharing an unbroken 62-run partnership with Suryakumar for the fifth wicket.

In the first One-Day International, India won the toss and invited West Indies to bat. Following that, Indian bowlers, particularly Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar, combined to reduce the Caribbean batsmen to submission. Both bowlers took seven wickets as West Indies were bowled out for 176 runs. With 132 balls remaining in the chase, the Indian team won thanks to Rohit Sharma’s 60-run half-century.
