Russia-Ukraine crisis: President Zelensky talks to PM Modi

On Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He disseminated this information via Twitter. In a tweet, he stated that Prime Minister Modi had been informed of Ukraine’s position on Russia’s aggression. In our country, there are over a million Russian invaders. They are indiscriminately firing on residential structures. We have requested India’s assistance in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

Prime Minister Modi spoke with Ukrainian President Zelensky, according to the PMO. The President of Ukraine briefed the Prime Minister on the current conflict in Ukraine in great detail. The Prime Minister expressed his heartfelt condolences for those who have lost their lives and property as a result of the ongoing conflict.

PM Modi reiterated his call for dialogue and an immediate end to the violence, according to the Prime Minister’s Office, and expressed India’s willingness to help in any way possible with the peace efforts. India’s deep concern for the safety of Indian citizens, including students in Ukraine, was also conveyed by the Prime Minister to him (President of Ukraine). He also asked the Ukrainian authorities to help expedite the evacuation of Indian nationals.

Students from India should not be concerned; instead, keep in touch with the embassy: Minister of the Union

Union Minister Jitendra Singh reassured the thousands of students stranded in Ukraine and their families that they were all in contact with the embassy to avoid panic. I assure to bring back the Indian students as soon as possible, the Union Minister tweeted. The Ministry of External Affairs is always making the necessary preparations. There’s no need to be concerned. Make contact with the student embassy and adhere to all rules and regulations.

At the same time, the Indian Embassy in Kiev, Ukraine’s capital, issued a warning to its citizens on Saturday, urging them not to visit the border post. Do not visit any border post without first consulting with Indian government officials, according to the embassy. To evacuate Indian nationals, we are working with our embassies in neighbouring countries.
